Majors that increase admission chances

Can you tell me which majors will increase my chances of admission at the UCs? My areas of interest are business, psychology, cognitive science, political science, communication and sociology.

For the most part, none of your majors of interest will impact your chances of admission.

UCLA
All of your areas of interests lie within the College of Letters and Science. The College does not consider the major when choosing its applicants.

Within the College of Letters and Science, the major an applicant chooses is not a factor in the review process at the freshman level. UCLA does not normally consider the alternate choices of applicants who applied to majors in the other schools (Engineering, Arts, etc.).

The School of Engineering and Applied Science is more competitive to get into however none of your interests fall within this school.

UC Santa Barbara
Again, your interested majors are in the College of Letters and Science.
'Choice of major is not considered in selection to the College of Letters and Science.' https://admissions.sa.ucsb.edu/applying/freshman/selection

UC Berkeley
Last year I had the same question asked of me and I found that major had no weight in the application. I found the following statement which has subsequently been removed on this site - https://admissions.berkeley.edu/freshmen-requirements:

'For applications to the College of Letters and Science and Natural Resources no consideration is given to the indicated major in the review process' This may have changed.

UC San Diego
They don't state explicitly whether this will affect your chances. They do however state that if you choose one of their popular programs that is capped on your admissions application, they highly recommend that you also select an alternate major. https://students.ucsd.edu/academics/advising/majors-minors/capped-majors.html?_ga=2.56542507.1222614829.1543372646-58196545.1543372646

UC Davis
Major does have some weight in the admission process.

‘Admission decisions are made based upon the qualifications of the applicant pool and the number of available spaces within each academic area:
College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences admits by college
College of Biological Sciences admits by college
College of Letters and Science admits by division within the college (Humanities, Arts and Cultural Studies; Mathematics and Physical Sciences; Social Sciences)
College of Engineering admits by academic department’

I wasn’t able to find any information on what majors increase your chances of admission or have higher admission rates. I was only able to find a list of the most popular majors - https://www.ucdavis.edu/majors/blog/tips-trends/top-ten-majors/

Irvine, Merced, Riverside and Santa Cruz make no mention of the major having any weight in the application.
